OCA Business Modules

Each academic year, OCA students participate in a business module. This business module serves as a learning experience and a service project where students collaboratively :

• Determine the service project the business module plan is going to fund
• Brainstorm and research product ideas
• Determine the capital costs to purchase materials and produce the product
• Create a business plan for the product ideas and business 
• Present business plans to students and faculty
• Decide on the business plan
• Create prototypes of the product
• Create the product after streamlining the manufacturing of the product
• Create marketing signs for business
• Set up and organize the business
• Sale the product
• Manage the money
• Determine the profit based on sales and production costs

For the 2023-2024 Academic Year, OCA student's business plan consisted of an owl pen and bake sale. The students raised a total of $531 that they will use for their service project that will renovate the Oakwood Baptist Church (OBC) playground and outdoor chapel.
