Why Choose OCA?

George Barna has noted a young person’s worldview primarily develops by the age of 13 and will go through a period of refinement during their teens and twenties. And yet, for those that are raised going to church, up to 85% will abandon their faith by the time they leave high school.

One of the major reasons for this, according to Barna, is the inability for young people to reconcile science with the Bible. This dilemma can be expressed by this axiom, “Religion is faith and science is fact. I prefer facts over faith.”

This is a false dichotomy, and OCA teaches how science and the Bible are congruent. OCA believes that every person is made in the image of God, created by God for a purpose, called by God to live in the world He created, and specifically called to live for Christ in this moment in history. OCA integrates a biblical worldview into every academic subject. Students understand that the truth of God’s Word relates to every aspect of their lives.

Oakwood Christian Academy’s goal is to partner with parents to be an instrument to assist in providing a Christ-honoring education that is biblically, academically, morally, spiritually, and relationally sound and will benefit the student for a lifetime of service to Christ.

All OCA students will be taught about God's love for us and how salvation is offered to all through His son, Jesus Christ. Students are also taught and encouraged to use his/her spiritual gifts to show Christ's love to others and to share the gospel message with others. Furthermore, students are taught and encouraged to develop an intimate relationship with God so that he/she can grow and become spiritual leaders in the community.

OCA’s student-to-teacher ratio will provide a beneficial learning environment for the student. Our students will be well prepared, academically and spiritually, to enter the next chapter of their lives.
